Event In Review: Le Diner en Blanc South Georgian Bay - 2nd Edition

The second edition of Le Diner en Blanc South Georgian Bay took place on Saturday, August 10th.  After months of preparation a sell out crowd of 900 people came together to feast under a beautiful sky, inspired by local charm and a welcoming atmosphere.

Once again, this year’s edition gave South Georgian Bay’s inhabitants a chance to exhibit their fashion sense, showcase their classy taste for design and elegance and share their gastronomic delights.  World-renown for its photogenic moments, Saturday night’s Le Diner en Blanc was no exception.

Attendees gathered at one of 9 departure points in all-white attire around South Georgian Bay and were guided into the secret event location by an incredible team of Group and Table Leaders to the astonished looks of passers-by.  It was quite the spectacle as hundreds of people in all-white attire were seen walking along First Street in Collingwood.

A special thank you to the Group & Table Leaders, these dedicated community professionals helped to ensure the evening ran smoothly and that everyone got to the secret location without a hitch.

As guests arrived at the secret location in Harbourview Park with the breathtaking backdrop of the Collingwood Terminals building, they began the process of setting up their portable tables, white chairs, white table linens and gourmet meal.  Guests allowed their creativity to shine with elaborate and breathtaking table décor.

The iconic napkin wave moment signaled the start of dinner at 7:30pm and the sparkler moment signaled the end of dinner at 9:00pm.  Then the after-party began! Roaming stilt-walkers from The Collingwood Circus club in outfits made specifically for Diner en Blanc interacted with guests while The Spin Starlets got things going by showcasing their mastery of the hula hoop and other incredible things that glowed and spun.  The 10-piece KC Roberts and The Live Revolution brought it all home with their soul-funk-groove featuring a full horn section, back up singers and the king of shredding himself KC Roberts in all-white attire of course!
