Danny Michel at Crow. Bar and Variety

After relocating to the South Georgian Bay area Danny Michel decided to bring his 'School Night Monday' concert series to his new community in a weekly series of shows at Crow. Bar and Variety in Collingwood, Ontario.  I was fortunate enough to attend the second show in the Sold Out series of Mondays in March.  The concept behind the event is that it takes place on a  Monday night in a small venue with early start and end times.  It's a casual, intimate and fun night where Danny & his band perform and then introduce a surprise guest to play with them each week.  

Skye Wallace was the secret guest performer on March 12th and all I can say is 'WOW'.  If Robert Plant and Crissie Hynde had a love child that would be Skye Wallace.  She's an incredibly powerful performer not easily forgotten.  She performs in the area again on March 22nd at The Bruce Street Social and I would strongly advise getting tickets while they are still available.

As an event planner, when I go out, it's often the people behind the scenes of a great night who capture my attention.  I appreciate hosts who who have put effort behind crafting an amazing experience for their guests. A great host will plan the menu, the entertainment, the lighting and hundreds of other nearly imperceptible details but above all they will create a mood, a feeling, a moment.  Whenever I attend a concert at Crow. Bar and Variety I feel welcome, accepted and part of a community of food and music lovers.
